The liftgate on the nissan murano is normally unlocked by pushing the unlock button twice on either your keyless remote or your driver side door panel switch.
Nissan murano back door wont lock.
Since the drivers door works properly i would suspect you have door lock actuator issues which is part of the front and rear door lock latch assembly.

You may want to toggle that switch a couple times just to be sure the switch doesn t have a bad connection.
The rear hatch is just a actuator.

There is no physical lock on the hatch just yes or no for power from the bcm.
There is a set screw that retains lock cylinder.
3 out of 4 locks are.
I would start by replacing the right front door lock actuator latch assembly and if that works properly in the lock position and unlock position then the problems are all in the actuators and they would need to be changed.

The liftgate does not have its own door lock cylinder for you to insert a key into.
I have tried using the key fob and the button inside the car to open and close the hatch but nothing happens.
The down position deactivates the rear hatch power lock and power up down rear liftgate.

If that doesn t work my guess would be you have a blown rear liftgate fuse or a faulty rear door actuator or both.
Then when i pressed the button in the car to open it would not.
Replaced the rear door fuse to no avail.
